This engaging exhibit invites visitors to step back in time and celebrate the rich traditions and history of some of Crook County’s most beloved summer events. “Crook County Summers” will feature the stories\, photographs\, artifacts\, and memories connected to the Crooked River Roundup\, Horse Races\, and the Crook County Fair—events that have brought generations of community members together and helped shape the identity and spirit of Crook County. \nFor decades\, these summer traditions have represented more than entertainment; they have served as gathering places where families\, friends\, ranchers\, competitors\, and visitors have come together to celebrate community and local heritage. The exhibit will explore how these events developed over the years and the lasting impact they have had on Crook County. \nCommunity members and visitors alike are invited to celebrate and learn about these treasured Crook County summer traditions while exploring the history behind these remarkable events. \nWhether you have memories of cheering at the rodeo\, attending the fair\, watching the horse races\, or are discovering these traditions for the first time\, “Crook County Summers” offers a chance to connect with the stories that continue to make summers in Crook County special. SUMMARY:Rancher's Memorial Exhibit Opens
DESCRIPTION:The sights\, sounds\, and excitement of the Crook County Fair are almost here—and we’re excited to be part of the fun! This year\, the Crook County Historical Society and Bowman Museum will have a booth at the fair and will be featuring a special exhibit\, “The History of the Crook County Fair\,” created in partnership with the Crook County Fairgrounds. \nCome stroll through decades of fair history\, from blue ribbons and prize-winning livestock to carnival rides\, parades\, and the traditions that have brought our community together for generations. You might even spot a familiar face—or remember a story you’d forgotten! \nWhile you’re at the fair\, make time to visit the Ranchers Memorial\, which will be open one day only – Friday\, August 7\, from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. It’s a wonderful place to honor and explore the ranching community. We hope you’ll stop by to say hello\, bring your family and friends\, and share your own favorite fair memories with us.
