Exploring the History of CC Fire & Rescue

The Bowman Museum invites the community to a special program exploring the history of Crook County Fire & Rescue on Thursday, March 20, at 6:00 PM. This engaging presentation will feature Volunteer Assistant Chief Mike Wright and Fire Prevention Technician Amber Blanchard, who will share insights into the evolution of firefighting in Crook County.

Established in 1884, Crook County Fire & Rescue is the oldest fire department in Central Oregon. From bucket brigades to modern fire suppression, this program will take attendees on a journey through the challenges, advancements, and heroic stories that have shaped local fire and rescue services. With decades of experience, Wright and Blanchard will provide a unique perspective on the history, innovations, and ongoing efforts to keep the community safe. E
