The Bowman Museum is proud to announce its latest exhibit, The History of Crook County Fire & Rescue, opening March 1 and running through May 31 at the Belknap Exhibit Center. This special exhibit highlights the evolution of firefighting in Crook County, showcasing the dedication and bravery of the men and women who have protected the community for over a century.
Visitors will explore the early days of fire response in Central Oregon, from bucket brigades to modern fire engines, and discover the challenges, advancements, and heroic stories that have shaped local fire and rescue services. The exhibit features historic photographs, firefighting equipment, personal stories from local firefighters, and displays that bring the history of Crook County Fire & Rescue to life.
